Astran overland trailers to the Middle East

Astran offers direct trucks to the Middle East door to door.  This is a better service than that provided by operators who tranship cargo and use a whole chain of different traction along the route.  Some of our clients have come to us having unknowingly booked the inferior service and suffered the consequential costs and delays.

Astran has carried on this year with deliveries to the Gulf. The majority of the loads have come from Italy and Spain, but there has been some from the UK.  We have recently sent two loads of trench shoring from the UK through to Doha.

We have continued to take loads of various materials from Spain to Mesaieed in Qatar for the Spanish power plant constructor, Iberdrola, from cabinets to lamp poles. Iberdrola found it was much quicker than seafreight and nearly as quick as air, to use the “express overland” trailer service.

We recently had an emergency call from Geodis Wilson who had 6 compressor units that had been shut off from being loaded on a ship bound for Qatar due to manufacturing delays, so trailers were dispatched from the UK, Belgium and Greece to collect this cargo and get it to Qatar to prevent factory shutdown.

Iran

The sanctions are making life tougher for freight forwarders, but we are still managing to make weekly deliveries to Tehran. With our thorough training and close contacts with the British Iranian Chamber of Commerce and BIS, all our cargo is checked for authenticity…Karen Vernon, our Iran trailer operations manager said, “This current climate means that it is even more important to check the export status of consignments. Errors can lead to very lengthy and costly delays.” Our team at Astran is highly experienced in advising clients on all documentation for Iran. For instant quotes, phone Karen on 01622 711105

Turkey

Our service to Turkey just keeps on going from strength to strength. We are working closely with our partners Alisan and are offering daily groupage departures with full loads when necessary. Turkey continues to be a vibrant economy and we are happy that we can offer a service that is both reliable and economical, in conjunction with Alisan, who are in the top five of logistics providers in Turkey. Worldwide Shipping

We have continued to offer our worldwide shipping service. We have imported grass mowers from New Zealand, scrap metals from Africa and delivered combine harvesters to Cyprus, vans and trucks to Africa and personal effects to many countries.

Iceland

Lema International (which is wholly owned by Astran) has continued to offer a weekly container service to Reykjavik. Working with our agent in Iceland Icetransport, we are helping this country rebuild itself after the financial crisis it went through 3 years ago by shipping in everything from building products to toilet rolls!
